Contact UsIn order to attract foreign investments, Italian government confirms the possibility to apply for a self-employment visa for entrepreneurs intending to implement an investment plan of interest for the Italian economy, involving an investment of at least € 500.000 and creating at least 3 new jobs in Italy.
The application is to be filed directly with the Italian consulate having jurisdiction over the applicant’s country of residence.
The applicant shall submit a business plan including an investment of at least 500.000 euros and the creation of at least 3 new jobs in Italy. The financial resources must come directly from the applicant. Another of the documents to be submitted is a certification issued by the Chamber of Commerce in Italy where the entrepreneur intends to establish the business.
The consulate will require submission of several other documents such as proof of additional funds, tax return, availability of accommodation in Italy, health insurance, etc.; additional documents can be required at the consulate's discretion.
Once the application is filed, it may take up to 120 days for the Consulate to approve/reject the visa. If the visa is issued, the applicant can travel to Italy where will have to file the residence permit application within 8 days.
