While the disease is centered in China, the United States, Canada, and other countries are not immune to possible outbreaks, given extensive international travel. As the world struggles to cope with the coronavirus, how are countries equipped to prevent the entry of suspected carriers? There are several legal instruments that can be used by the authorities to enforce health and safety at the port of entry and to control the entry of individuals who may be infected with communicable diseases.
